2-Piece Downstream Oxygen Sensor Set
Package includes two downstream oxygen sensors equivalent to 234-4256. They are intended for select General Motors applications that use matching post-catalytic-converter sensors for Bank 1 and Bank 2. Compatibility varies by model year, engine, emissions specification, connector, and sensor position. Please verify the OE part numbers on both existing sensors before ordering.

Core Technical Specifications
  • Sensor Layout Position: Downstream Only (Post-Catalytic Converter / Sensor 2, Bank 1 & Bank 2).
  • Sensor Design Type: 4-Wire Planar Heated Oxygen Sensor (Narrowband, 0-1 Volt scale).

Important Fitment Information
The applications below are general references and require vehicle-specific verification. Confirm the model year, engine size, Federal or California emissions configuration, connector, sensor position, and OE numbers before ordering. Some vehicles may not use the same downstream sensor on both banks.
The 234-4256 downstream sensor primarily serves General Motors light-duty trucks, full-sized SUVs, and passenger vehicle platforms spanning model years 2007 to 2016:

Related Diagnostic Trouble Codes
A faulty downstream oxygen sensor may contribute to the diagnostic trouble codes below. These codes can also be caused by wiring faults, exhaust leaks, fuel-system issues, or catalytic-converter problems. Proper diagnosis is recommended before replacing any sensor.
  • P0141 / P0161: Downstream O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 or Bank 2, Sensor 2) — Indicates that the internal heating circuit inside the 234-4256 replacement has failed, preventing it from reaching optimal closed-loop diagnostic temperatures.
  • P0136 / P0156: Downstream O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 or Bank 2, Sensor 2) — Signals an open circuit or physical harness damage underneath the vehicle frame rails.
  • P0138 / P0158: Downstream O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage — Triggered when the sensor output stays abnormally high, indicating an electrical short to voltage or a continuous, uncorrected rich tailpipe condition.
  • P0420 / P0430: These codes often indicate a catalytic-converter or exhaust-system problem. A slow or faulty downstream sensor can sometimes contribute to an inaccurate reading, but these codes do not confirm that the oxygen sensor is faulty.
